The Doubt Of Future Foes (2011)

„Enhanced cultural understanding has increased the prospect of artists to create an effective work that encourages people to think about where humanity is heading. Many of Rosa’s artworks address issues relating to values and social issues, such as consumption and identity. Her work prompts us to think about impact of human activity on the environment. Rósa has used her imagination to recreate a simple reflection of the consumer world. She works with issues that provide the viewers with new perspectives, connected to their daily life in order to interpret and connect with their own experiences and community structure. Her works are in close connection with her social context and are therefore influenced by current events, the global attraction to plastic and the over-consuming, discarding, littering and thus polluting, which are threatening the nature. Plastic is versatile, lightweight, flexible, moisture resistant, strong, and relatively inexpensive. Those are the attractive qualities that lead us, around the world, to such a greedy appetite and over-consumption of plastic goods. Plastic like every consumer product comes from the earth and returns to it in one form or another. The plastic is durable and very slow to degrade, plastic materials that are used in the production of so many products all, ultimately, become waste with staying power. Rosa’s works with the Idea of consumptions is a great example of how art can help us to understand the impact of human activity on the environment. Her works have educational potential in promoting ethical values and should be used to promote responsible behaviour. Education for sustainability encourages sustainable lifestyle and participation in a democratic society. The key question for educators is how students can utilize their own knowledge to make informed decisions about the future?“
